Fashion Revolution Week is an annual campaign that aims to raise awareness about the impacts of the ‘fast fashion’ industry and encourage consumers to make more mindful purchasing decisions.
Both consumers and brands participate in Fashion Revolution Week on social media using the hashtags #WhoMadeMyClothes (consumers) and #IMadeYourClothes (producers, artisans and brands). Producers working in fashion, accessories, bags and shoes are all encouraged to get involved. In 2016, more than 2,600* producers participated, helping to promote their brand and highlight their values in the process. Fashion Revolution Week has an impressive global reach, creating more than 156 million social media impressions in 2016, and securing media coverage that reached a potential 22 billion people worldwide.
Fashion Revolution Week 2017 (Monday April 24 to Sunday April 30) will be a unique opportunity to highlight the relationship between Fair Trade and ethical fashion and to promote the work WFTO Asia Members are doing to create a fairer, more transparent fashion industry. To help raise the profile of Fair Trade during Fashion Revolution Week, we are supporting you, our Members, to get involved on social media using the hashtag #WFTOMadeYourClothes and the posters provided.
