Observed annually on March 8, International Women’s Day is an opportunity for WFTO Asia to reflect on our work towards gender equality and the challenges that lay ahead. It’s also a time to highlight the efforts of our members who put the sixth Principle of Fair Trade – ending discrimination and promoting gender equity and freedom of association – into practice every day.

Women in our region face significant challenges in the labour market and in the workplace. WFTO’s #FairChancesAtWork campaign – launched today to mark International Women’s Day – highlights the bold actions fair trade organisations take towards achieving gender equality. WFTO Asia’s own commitment to women is reaffirmed in our recently adopted Gender Policy and our official International Women’s Day Unity Statement, available to read here.

Join us to ask the question: “What are your fair chances at work?” to raise awareness on gender inequality at workplaces.
